Excertps/tag pages are showing captions.
For instance the post at http://indonesiaetc.com/is-corruptio...h-a-bad-thing/ is filed under the "corruption" tag. So when you click through to see all posts tagged "corruption" you get to: http://indonesiaetc.com/tag/corruption/

As you can see, the caption of the picture is the first text of the excerpt.

For the post: http://indonesiaetc.com/where-have-all-the-oknum-gone/, because there is no caption to the picture, the excerpt on the tag page looks the way it should.

In a thread from 2010 here: http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthr...tions+excerpts Miles says:

On the posts with images copy the text you want to show as the excerpt and paste it into in the Excerpt field under the post edit box.

But I don't see "the Excerpt field under the post edit box."

I do see the "Atahualpa Post Options" box. And I've tried putting the first paragraph in the "Description" box. No luck.

So, how do we parse out the caption of a picture in the excerpt for the post?

go to dashboard->posts->All Post then edit a post. Look at the top right hand side of the winow where you will see tab 'Screen Options'. Make sure the 'Excerpts' option is checked.

Just noticed that the "Excerpt" box IS present on one of my other sites. This one is running WP 4.0 and Atahualpa 3.7.15
Cannot figure out why the "Excerpt" box is missing from indonesiaetc.com, both setups look substantially the same.
