Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

New header text widget not spanning page

I'm trying to add a new text widget to the header area. I've tried it on a local version of my site (I'll go live with it when I get it to span the page).

This new widget area is number 1 of 3 widgets. It's text content is:

<div style="color: #505050; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; letter-spacing: 5px;">Doug Coe | Bay Area Architect</div>

I've attached images of what it looks like and what I want it to look like (spanning the whole web page)...from a mockup.

Any tips or clues on what to try to fix this layout problem?

Thank you,
Doug

I'm not clear on what you want to do.

Hi Larry,
Thank you for responding. I tried to attach two pdf's but only one worked. It shows my mockup of what I want: the text "Doug Coe | Bay Area Architect" on the left side of the header, and the search box and phone number on the right.

What I have instead is "Doug Coe | Bay Area Architect" has its left edge in the center of the page. Maybe this is related to being followed by two images, I don't know.

Is that clear? Sorry if it's hard to understand.
Doug

If you defined the widget area in the header, then it can only be as lares as the header area. You have defined a widget area with three cells which means the three of them share the width of the header area.
You could define multiple separate widget areas...
