Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

How Do I Add More Affiliate Ads on a Sidebar

I added the text widget to the right sidebar and I put some code (supplied by groupon) in the text widget.

Now my sidebar has one tiny clickable image for groupon deal of the day. Everything else has been erased, but that's okay. I didn't need a list of older entries, etc.

I'm also an affiliate for Living Social, Barnes & Noble, CityPass and others. I'd like to fill up my right sidebar with these vendors.

How can I add code supplied by the vendors (or widget)? Do I keep adding to the text area? Or, do I need to do something else to make these ads appear?

Thank you.

It all depends on the code. Sometimes you need to use a widget that will support the code such as php aware widget.

I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge.

Should I install Content Aware Sidebars? Is that a php aware widget?

I'd like the sidebars on my website to look something like this, but I don't want the blogroll:
http://www.atlantaonthecheap.com

Here is what my website looks like:
http://windycityonthecheap.com

Here is the code supplied by Groupon that I used for the right sidebar:
<script type="text/javascript">
var _gwparam = _gwparam || [];
_gwparam["APIKEY"] = "24d7e274a8a059c9ea9767eb080329820854577e";
_gwparam["size"] = "88.31";
_gwparam["location"] = "41.8795,-87.6243";
_gwparam["bgcolor"] = "8BC53F";
_gwparam["title"] = "undefined";
_gwparam["PID"] = "5453999";
_gwparam["AID"] = "10817648";
</script>
<script id="grouponAd" type="text/javascript" src="http://www.groupon.com/javascripts/common/affiliate_widget/grouponwidget.js"></script>

Am I heading in the right direction?

Thank you.

Your Groupon image is showing so what you are doing works.

Whew! That's a relief.

If I want to add a banner and more code from another vendor do I just add it below the Groupon code, or do I need to separate the sidebar into little pieces (one for each image) somehow?

Thanks again.

The best answer I can give is just try it and see what works.
