Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Add a background image to the title, position the image above it. You will have to add padding top to allow the image to show.
Same for adding images to Widget titles. You'll have to play with height, padding, maybe margins and positioning, but it is a background image to the title you want.

Hi Jam,

Thanks for the quick answer. Your suggestion will probably work but I don't want to add the image as a background to the title. I want to add it above the title. Honestly, this theme is quite difficult to make such changes.

OSX 10.11.5 WP 4.x Atahualpa(all) Safari, Firefox, Chrome
just add it to the post title for example
HTML Code:
<img src="http://yourdomain.com/wp-content/post-title-image.jpg" alt="" /><br>This post has an image above it
if you want it to show on the blog page and you are displaying excerpts, you need to add '<img> to the 'Don't strip these tags' option in the 'configure EXCERPTS' section

OK, let me reword my question because it seems it is understood as an image for the title. It is nothing to do with the title, I just want a banner above the post area (which also means above the post title). Just like the below layout:

This will be a banner ad and it will show on all posts (not pages or homepage). So, where should I insert the
HTML Code:
<a href=""><img src="" /></a>
code?

Try putting the code in the kicker box(es) in ATO>Edit Post/Page Info Items

I'm interested in doing something like this, too. My site is set up so that the front page displays a static page. On the blog page, I'd like to have an image/banner above the posts, but I don't want it to repeat above every post (so, for me, putting the image in the kicker section would not work). I tried cheating it by publishing a post with just the banner image in it and making it a sticky, but for some reason it shows the post name (even though I've checked the box to have it not display), and it also has the post footer with the categorization, which I don't want.

Any ideas on how to do this? If I'm unclear, let me know and I'll attach a screenshot of what I'm thinking.

Thanks!

put the image in a text widget in a new widget area and the 'widget lodgic plugin to control when it displays. Put the new widget code into index.php where is is in the loop.

juggledad,

Thanks so much for responding quickly, and for introducing me to the widget logic plugin! Amazing! With a little trial-and-error, I figured out where to place the code in index.html and how to use widget logic to have it display only on my blog page.
Again, thank you and very happy new year!
