I am frustrated at what I have (not) been able to accomplish using the WP eCommerce plugin... buggy and frustrated at its lack of support...

I have a client, selling wine... here are the requirements

Hooks up to Authorize.net
Hooks up to the UPS Shipping Price API
Would be nice it it hooked up to the UPS Shipping API so it could print shipping labels from within store.
Membership with different quantity discounts for members
Recurring billing (likely using the authorize.net capability)
Secure (https) for credit card entry
Coupon discounts
"Will Pick up" vs shipping would be nice
Manual order entry
Bulk order entry from a csv file would be nice
Bulk product entry from a csv would be nice

There are probably more that I'm not remembering but those are the main ones

Am I tilting at windmills?

Take a look at the Tribulant shopping cart. I also like Ecwid which is a third part that integrates with WordPress via a plugin.

Question for lmilesw: Now that Ecwid is limiting the free accounts to 10 items instead of 100 are they still a viable alternative for small customers? (Does the $15 per month make them no longer a good choice?)

I wasn't aware of the pricing change to Ecwid. Whether it's worth $15 is something you will have to determine.

You might also look at MarketPress Heard some great things and it was also developed because of the problems with WP eCommerce. It costs $19 if not a member, but I've purchased from them before and support is good.
