Don't want a comment box

Ata 3.6.7 and WP3.1. Would like to disable comments all together on posts and pages. I've checked in "discussion" in WP settings and all over ata. Can you help? Thanks!

That should work for new posts. Old post, you may have to go into them and disable comments. You might look for a plugin...

How do I "go into them and disable"? Would it be easier if I just delete the post and reenter it?

edit the post and look at the section 'Discussion'

if you don't see it, check the screen option tab

OK, I'll do that. I also installed the plugin "one click close comments" and that took care of it as well.
