Hi all,

Here is my site:
http://gator541.hostgator.com/~acoc2011/

(It's a temp url until I finish building it out.)

I don't know if I am on the right track with this but here goes. I am trying to add 2 banner ads to the header area, next to the alachua chamber of commerce logo. I plan to use the Simple Image plugin to do this. I'm already using that for my sidebar ads.

I understand that in the "configure header" area, I am to remove the %logo and replace with <?php bfa_widget_area('name=My new widget area'); ?> but beyond that, I am lost. Am I supposed to insert my own code where it says 'name= My new widget area') And where would I find that code?

And will the widget that I am creating be added where the regular widgets are? i.e. right sidebar, left sidebar, etc so that all I have to do is drag the Simple Image widget into the new widget area?

A coder, I am not. But I am appreciate your help!

Eunice

P.S. I have tried to follow other posts that explain how to do this but I am completely lost.
Diagrams and visual aids welcome! ;-)

P.P.S. I donated to both moderators on here. You have both been a great help to me so far.

you're on the right track

diagram without visual aid:
- create the widget by replacing %logo with the code you mentioned indeed
- if needed, adjust the code to your liking (cells, align etc.) as explained in atahualpa -> add new widget areas
- you can change the "my new widget area" text bit with anything you want, best use a meaningful description o.c.
- after reloading your site the widget area will be ready, and will show up under appearance-> widgets indeed
- the new widget area will be called "my new widget area" or however you called it
- and you can drag and drop widgets in it, just like with any other widget area

just try it out .. probably easier than you think
