Hello,

Is it possible to move the footer below the post container? I am trying to make litteacher.com mirror the look of this layout mockup. There is a beige background behind the center column and a black footer below it.

Using Atahualpha 3.5.3, the footer is at the bottom of the post container; is there a way to move it down just below?

Thank you,
Jason Bedell.

I think there are different ways to achieve this, also without moving the footer outside of/below the container.
(think it should be possible with some toying around with the margins and paddings for the page div.)

But before going any further, I think its important to see that in the mockup .. the background image cleverly fades away down the page into black... which allows for a black background in the footer.

What you currently have on your site .. this is not the case. The page background image fades away to a dark grey, while the background colour for your footer is some dark aubergine like colour. I think you need matching colours for a seamless footer.

You are right there. My friend is much better at design than I am. I don't always notice subtle color differences. I can change the background image so that it fades to black.

Once I do that, how would I be able to move the footer down?

Quickly looked with firebug .. make sure you install firebug if you don't have it yet.
With firebug you can quickly test your CSS, and find out wich selectors to address.

Looks to me this should work:

Code:
div.post-bodycopy > table + table {margin: 0px -10px;}
div.page {padding-bottom: 0px;}

Excellent. That worked perfectly! Thank you so much.
I'd forgotten about Firebug once I migrated to Chrome last year. I'll check it out again. Thanks for the tip.
