I have set static pages for front page and another page for posts, called posts. I have made an arbitrary post as well. When I try the leave a comment link at the bottom of the post, I get to 404 page not found.

The reply and ping are allowed. can anyone help?

Can't beleive I solved it. The problem was that the permalink was set to custom, clicking the leave a comment link would direct the browser to no man's land.
I would never think a permalink selection other than default would make leave a comment problem.
