Hi,
Have searched, but could not find my problem.
Wordpress 3.0.1 Atahualpa 3.5.3 Have set top categories in menu. But no drop down shows for subcategories. Have tried out with test posts. That did not work either.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Ann.

What subcategories did you create and what is the the top level category for them?

Did you apply any of the bug fixes from the New Versions and Updating forum?

if you have 'Animate Category Menu Bar' set on, turn it off. If that doesn't fix it, do an export of your settings (ato->export.import settings) and attach it to a reply (use the paperclip icon)

Hi,
That unfortunately did not fix it.
I am attaching the settings file.
Thanks,
Ann.

Hi,
I have them all disabled (it was only akismet and delicious), but it is still not working.
This is a brand new installation so no junk from any old installation in there either.
There must be something that I am doing wrong, I just don't know what.

Is there perhaps somewhere where I have to activate showing subcategories? I could not find any such thing, but maybe I looked in all the wrong places?
I have also checked firefox, ie and Chrome. It works on neither of them.

Are you using the Atahualpa menu system or the WordPress menu system? Can you get the page menu to drop down?

Hi,
I am using the wordpress menu, as recommended.
I have not tried the page drop down, yet.
Let me see and revert back to you on that.

... not working on the pages menu either.
BTW, I had tried to add the subs to the menu, but then they were moved onto the menu bar like the top level items...

Do your menus look indented like this screen cast? You have to add the subcategories and then drag them to the right a bit under the top level menu.

Woohoohoooo!!!!! That was it! Thank you!!!!
Silly question - but is there an instruction manual for it. I didn't find one. But how is one supposed to know about this stuff without one?

All the info for WordPress is at wordpress.org. Here is a link to the menu instructions.
