Hi Everyone,
I'll just say outright that I am new to this and I have not programed or tried to
write a website since about 10 years ago.

So, I tried to install the Atahualpa theme. Can anyone explain why the text below
was my result? Can you explain how to download, upload & install correctly? Thanks,

Hi Alex,
First off, is wordpress working with the default theme?
if yes, when do these errors happen?
What version are you running?

I'm having the exact same problem. Yes, it works with the Normal theme.
The error happens as soon as I activate Atahualpa. The only way to get rid of it is to delete the Atahualpa folder in wp-content/themes.
I downloaded WordPress a couple of days ago and downloaded Atahualpa yesterday and today. So they're really recent.

what version of WP, Atahualpa and PHP are you running?

I was trying to avoid answering those questions, because I have to delete the Atahualpa folder to get the answers, but I'm doing that now. The reason is that the error inactivates everything, including my admin panel.
OK, that's done.
Word Press: 2.8.4
Atahualpa: 3.4.1 (downloaded today from http://www.ellenfinkelstein.com/pptb...min/themes.php)
PHP: 5.2.10 according to my Web host

Did you upload the theme with all its sub folders such as /functions/?

I had similar happen to me when I used Wordpress 2.9.2 automated theme upgrade to go from Atahualpa 3.4.5 to 3.4.6. After it and said it had successfully downloaded and installed the upgrade my site stopped working (public and dashboard), with only lots of "failed to open stream" error messages filling the screen.

I deleted the atahulalpa folder and that reset Wordpress to use the default theme.

I then went to the dashboard and selected 'Add new theme' and installed Ataualpa 3.4.6. This time, all went well.
