I FIXED IT!Sorry for wasting your time Juggledad.. it was because I had set the shopping cart to display: none in order for it to minimize the sliding cart automatically. After the above problems, I put !important after everything, which caused it to not ever display. Deleting the !important made it work as normal again PHEW!
I checked the cart, it does work, and yes, no prices, currently just designing the layout and then adding content and real products including prices.

Thanks again for all your help and so promptly too; you saved me a lot of headache today
