Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Has anyone experienced or fixed this? it was working before but I don't know how long it's been broken:
I have a pub guide: http://manchesterpubs.net
I want to set a static page as my front page, using a page with a map: http://manchesterpubs.net/map

So I set this page as Front page in wp/settings/reading

Instead of this static page appearing when I click the homepage link I get the list of posts with excerpts as before. The title in the browser title bar has changed to reflect the static page title, and the permalink of the static page has changed to the homepage (ie just the domain root) http://manchesterpubs.net instead of http://manchesterpubs.net/map, and can't be edited.

Also, the link for this page is in the page menu bar, but just takes me to the list too, because of the permalink change, and if I type in http://manchesterpubs.net/map it redirects to the root as well!

Using Atahualpa 3.4.9
If I switch to 2010 theme it all works

I don't see a link to the map page on the page menu bar. When you say it was working before what do you mean? Do you mean at some point if just stopped working? Have you changed any permalink settings? Did you upgrade to WP 3.0.1. If you did did you apply the bug fixes as outlined in the upgrades forum?

If it were me I would upgrade to Atahualpa 3.5.3 using the manual procedure as outlined here, apply all the bug fixes as listed here, and see what happens.

Thanks,
It's a mystery - I tried downloading & upgrading to 3.53 weeks ago but the layout got messed up, so I switched back to 3.49; perhaps I upgraded wp since - I really need to start logging stuff. Anyways, 3.53 was still in the theme switcher so I just tried it now, and the layout is fine and permalinks and homepage all working as it should.
PS I had removed the link to Map in the theme options as it would be confusing to visitors, esp at a busy weekend
thank you for your help

Well... At least it's working. I mark this thread "solved"?
