There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Social Media Counters following Byline

I am trying unsuccessfully to place a horizontal line of social media counters under the byline of each post or excerpt on personal-authenticity-project.com .

I have tried everything I can think of. I have tried four different social media counter plugins (even purchasing one). I have tried editing the ATA Edit Post/Page different Byline settings with [shortcodes], break, paragraph, and actual social media code to no avail...

What I get is social media counters floating immediately to the end of the byline and hanging vertically... See http://personal-authenticity-project...pell-awakening

I believe the problem is a bug with Atahualpa for this reason: if the byline extends to 2 lines, there isn't a problem. If it is only 1 line, then there is a problem. Page through the posts, and you'll see the seeming correlation.

Can you recommend any fix? Thanks in advance!!

OSX 10.11.5 WP 4.x Atahualpa(all) Safari, Firefox, Chrome
try adding this to the CSS Inserts
HTML Code:
.social-ring-button {
    margin: 0 0 0 0 !important;
}
The issue is that the media counters are part of the body copy, not the byline and the length of the line. At some point if there is enough text on the byline something has to move and it is the media icons.

To actually make them part of the byline you would have to edit the theme code.

My suggestion above will not work if you add another category tpo the post or make the category longer becasue it will cause the spill to the next line.

Thanks for your reply. However that did not work. With the CSS insert added the problem remains.

Trying to fix this, I have tried adding html commands (break, paragraph) etc. to the end of the byline configuration thinking that the byline processing could conclude with a new line, but that too doesn't work.

Given that this problem exists for each social counter I've tried, I'm surprised no one else has had this problem.

Any other ideas?
