Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

[SOLVED] Underline, not border bottom, for page menu hover

Seems like this should be simple, but I've had problems trying to add an underline upon hover (not current) for the page menu.

There've been a few discussions about this and this thread talks about using border-bottom for it:

http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthr...ight=underline

This theoretically works but the border winds up being bigger than I want underneath the menu items. I want it exactly underneath the text characters.

This thread talks about using text-decoration, which is what my first instinct was:

http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthr...ight=underline

However, I tried using text-decoration: underline and it's not working. It's not even showing up when I inspect with Chrome Elements. Any thoughts on this?

No go. I had that in there before but I deleted it and copied JD's code just in case I had a typo I was missing. Same thing.

Try typing it back in, there could be an invisible character that is causing a problem and get rid of the
HTML Code:
div#menu1 ul.rMenu{}
just before it.

I copied the source of your page and it shows fine in safari and FireFox on the mac, so I susped an odd invisable characres in there

Also try adding !important as below.
HTML Code:
div#menu1 ul.rMenu li a:hover {
    text-decoration: underline !important;
}

Getting rid of the extra CSS line did it. When I start a site, I always copy JD's menu cheatsheet and clear it out as a template. Guess now I know sometimes it'll make things fickle! Thanks!
