How to use radial bg images?

The bg for my web page is contains several radial gradients for special lighting effects. I tried creating a 1020 X 500 png file and adding the code:
background: url(/wp-content/themes/atahualpa/images/top500.png) no repeat center top;
to ATO> body text and links > body styleand then also the same code to
ATO>Style configure layout>layout container style.

but neither seems to work? The site is
jkstest.info and I've attached the bg image that I'm trying to load. Using 3.7.1

Not sure if it's a typo but it needs to be no-repeat instead of no repeat. If that doesn't work try the full path to the image.

The problem was using "no repeat" instead of "no-repeat".
does it matter if I add the code to
"body text and links" or "style and configure layout'?
Both seem to have the same effect-
Suppose I wanted the entire page to sit on a different color background? Where does that bg image get specified?

depends on what effect you want. Try it in both places and see what it does.

depends on if you want to use the CSS short hand or longhand. Take a look at http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_background.asp
