Screen Options!?!

Hi, I don't know if this is tied to this template or wordpress in general.

Here is what I am trying to do... When someone goes to add a post they see tons of un-necessary widgets on the posting screen. They each have to go into "Screen Options" and uncheck the boxes to not display them. Is there a way that I can uncheck these boxes or set a default for each Role so they only see certain things and don't get intimidated by the 10 things on the post screen? I would like to update my "Contributor or Author" role and only show like 3 things. Is this possible? Thanks.
