How to remove border around avatar?

I just installed a shoutbox which has te possibility to show avatars. These avatars are borderless when they popup by a new message. When refreshing the whole page, I think ATA is the reason a border is present around the avatar. So, maybe this can be modified in the settings of ATA or I must look at the code of this pierres-wordspew v.1.51 shoutbox.
I'd like to know how to solve this.

being someone who doesn't use shoutbox (gasp!!!) is there a way to force one of these popup's so I can see what is happening?

-With the 'popup' in the previous reply I ment the shout. A shout is the message in the box-
Just leave a shout with an email address so a avatar will be shown. As soon as your shout apears, your avatar will be shown before your shout. The avatar won't have a additional border, but only when the whole page is been refrehed.
