I believe this is a header issue:

I recently upgraded to Atahualpa 3.6.7 and I now get the following message when I try to administrate a couple of the plugins ( next gen gallery for one):
"Please do not load this page directly. Thanks!"
I know I have seen this in header info before but I cannot for the life of me understand what has happened.
I knopw it may not be a BFA oriented problem but I know you guys can maybe at least direct me...

sounds like a plugin issue. start disabling a couple plugins and retest till you find the culprit then get a new copy of it.

OK - have started that process. Quick question: do you advise deactivating ___or deleting plug-ins off the ftp to do testing like this?

Just deactivate. Then you can just select the "Recently Active" to see a list of just those you have deactivated so you can reactivate them one by one.
