Sub menu's not showing in completion when java animation is enabled

I turned an "animation" of sub-menus. It's animating, but when I go to a sub-menu, it shows just the top one and white space where the others should go. Can anyone help??

Javascript animation of dropdown menu doesn't seem to behave well (tabs are visually "unstable") when using Internet Explorer IE8. Fine on all other browsers tested, PC or mac.
This is illustrated on a clean WP 3.0.4 and ATA 3.6.1 install (default settings, except javascript). Temporary site: http://eight.olins.info

PS I LOVE the theme and the forum, and tell all my friends about it. Keep it up!
