There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Hi there,

I'm trying to find a way to fill the space underneath the center column and sidebars. Easiest way to explain is with pictures. Heres my current site:

http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/158/ppsite1.jpg

And I want to turn it into this:

http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/5636/ppsite2.jpg

I tried increasing the bottom padding on the widget container. This worked for pages where there is only one widget per sidebar. But on pages with widgets stacked on top of eachother, the padding put spaces between the widgets, which I don't want.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any pointers

Try styling your left sidebar to a background: #FFFFFF; at ATO->Style & configure SIDEBARS->RIGHT sidebar style

Thanks for the suggestion... unfortunately this didn't produce the right affect for me, as it made the sidebar section white on every page of the site, even those which don't have any widgets on that sidebar. So I end up with a empty white strip. Take a look at my site: www.twh.net.au/pp - you'll see there are some pages which don't have widgets on both sides. I only want to extend the white underneath where there is an existing widget.

Maybe I need to add a widget which just fills the space underneath? Is there some HTML code or something which will fill to 100% vertically?

so why not do as I said, then just don't display the sidebar on the pages you don't want it on (see ATO->Style & configure SIDEBARS->RIGHT sidebar: Don't display on Pages

Thanks for your help Juggledad..

Adding pages to the 'Don't display on pages' section isn't an option for me, because in the future there new content added every week, by multiple users. Its not feasable to add every single new page/post/category/tag to the 'Don't display' exclusion list. (can you even exclude tags/categories?)

Perhaps I'm going about this the wrong way?? Maybe I should try simply inserting a spacer image to any pages where I need to add white space. It doesn't need to go 100% vertically, only enough to cover the background image.

Sorry this is a complicated problem I'm also quite new to this.

Are you saying that you are going to be building new 'static' pages every week?

Remember, posts, category and archive pages are different than static pages. You can choose to display the side bar on category pages, but not on static page 24.

I'm not sure what your trying to accomplish
