I found a similiar post regarding this issue from back in May, but did not see an answer.

I am trying to remove the "uncategorized" category from the menu in the left sidebar. I placed the category id number to exclude it from the category menu bar, but it still shows.

Additionally, I have tried to change the categories to upper or lower case and that does not seem to work either. Any ideas?

"In the left sidebar"... that's the Wordpress category widget, which Atahualpa does not control

For lowercase add a CSS Insert

ul#rmenu {
text-transform: lowercase !important;
}

If you want to completely remove the "uncategorized" category and/or use another as the default you can go to:

WP ADMIN>>> SETTINGS>>> WRITING

Then select: Default Post Category

Choose something other than "uncategorized" and save your settings.

Then go to: WP ADMIN>>> POSTS>>> CATEGORIES>>>

Now you can delete the "uncategorized" category.
