Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Atahualpa and WP 3.0 Beta ??

I was just wondering if anyone out there had Atahualpa running in the new beta of WordPress 3.0

It sounds like there are a lot deep-reaching changes in the next version.

Wordpress 3.4.1, Atahualpa 3.7.7
I am running Wordpress 3.0-beta 2 and Atahualpa 3.4.9 on this sandbox site:

http://fastwomen.com/

Notice the new "mixed" nav menu. I haven't tested absolutely every new feature yet.

Oh come on! You know I'm not near as clever as you! You're going to have to take me by the hand and patiently point out what exactly is different in what I'm seeing at "Fast Women"

Sorry for being dense!
Jim

PS -- so, IYHO, would the Larchmont site survive if you upgraded it to WP 3.0?

OK, look at the right sidebar. See the menu? Notice the mixture of pages and categories and even a link to an outside site (CNN)?

Maybe you could do that with a plugin in the past, but it's great to have it built into the core of WP now. I've often thought that the end-user often doesn't know or care whether something is a page or a post, or whether a link is in the site or elsewhere. This makes WP much easier to use as a CMS.

I'm still exploring...

I would NOT upgrade any important site yet! I think I'll wait for a stable release like 3.1 at least.

Okay! I had not picked up on the fact that both posts and pages were being linked to. And, while I was a little shocked when "CNN" took me outside the "Fast Women" the site, I didn't put it together that doing that from a usual WP install was extraordinary.

While wondering if I should bump my test site up to WP 3.0 beta I realized I had not yet even installed ATA 3.4.9 yet ...so I'm off to play with THAT for a little while.

Paula, thank you for being out at the bleeding edge ...blazing the way for the rest of us timid ignoramuses!
