Featured image on single pages while using Nelio?

Tried a few threads about making the featured image work on single and full post pages, not just excerpts, but can't seem to get it to work. I am also using Nelio External Featued image, will it even work with that?

I tried copying the index.php template and renaming it to single.php to add the below but it didn't work
