Now I think I see what you mean. You want to get rid of the links on the right sidebar. Is that correct? Do you want anything there at all?

no, on the lower menu bar, under the header, just to the right of 'about and contributors' there are 2 links I didn't put there - to posts and comments, with nice little graphics next to them - I just want to get rid of them.

I will eventually get it. That's in ATO>RSS Settings. Just turn off what you don't want.

Those are your RSS links. Go to ato->RSS Settings and change your options

you are brilliant! thank you, I hadn't realised they were RSS feed things, I have add to any subscribe below them so I don't need them there, even though they look good.
