There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

[SOLVED] Width Parameter for New Widget Areas

Is the width_X parameter for new widget areas only honored for multi-cell widget areas?

I checked functions.php and it appears that width is not in the div section for the 1 cell version of a new widget area.

Around line 405 (ata ver 3.4.4)

My goal is to create a widget area that is 25% the total site width, then float it so it doesn't span the bottom of the entire site.

thanks

if you are on 3.4.4 using the new widget areas, I would suggest upgrading

I started out with 3.4.4, so the bad widgets should be an issue. I think that for single cell widget areas, it only wraps them in a div, as opposed to the table, which then the width parameter might play more of a role.

I decided to just add a CSS insert for that div and set the width there.

To recap, I think based on on the functions.php file, width is only applied to those multi cell widget areas, whereas if there is only 1 cell, its simply wrapped in a div, and width not passed to it.

thanks for the post, it might come in handy if I ever inherit an older Ata site.
