I am using atahualpa but cannot decide which forum to use to use with it. I tried bbpress, but apprantly it does not work with atahualpa theme properly. Only works with child themes. Is there another great alternative?

In my minimal test bbpress works with Atahualpa. What were the problems you had with your testing.

the new version (1.7) of buddypress seems to work well.
