How to remove the link(s) from the category menu bar

I do need to removed the link(s) from the category menu bar so the category/ies are there but not active/clickeable.

Any idea about how to resolve this? I have been searching in the forum but I have not found anything about how to deactivate the links in this particular menu bar.

I use Wordpress 3.0.1 with the 'old' menu system and the newest version of Atahualpa theme.

Thanks in advance

OSX 10.11.5 WP 4.x Atahualpa(all) Safari, Firefox, Chrome
there is nothing built into the theme. You will have to edit the code in bfa_hor_cats.php
