Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

I've recently made my website mobile friendly. However when I add an item to the shopping cart, and the item has a variation, the variation does not transfer to the shopping cart in mobile; therefore when I receive the customer's order, their choices aren't on the order. My shopping cart plugin says this is because Atahualpa isn't responsive. Is there a way to resolve this issue? Thanks for any assistance. My website is metalstampedmemories.com.

What shopping cart?
What version of WP and Atahualpa?
What do you mean by 'item has a variation'?
Have you tried it with another theme?
Have you shutoff ALL other plugins to see if it is a plugin conflict?

the plugin said that or the plugin's author?
If it was the author, did they say anything else?
Is it a premium plugin or freebie?

I am using the wordpress eStore plugin for my shopping cart.
Wordpress version 4.2.1
Atahualpa version 3.5.1
"Item has variation" meaning I sell jewelry so there is a dropdown box by the item (which the estore calls a variation). The dropdown box for example will have different months for birthstones which the customer needs to select one month. After they select their month and submit their order, the variation is not transferred over to the shopping cart.
It is a premium plugin. The plugin's author told me that my theme does not look to be responsive.
I have tried to shut off all plugins and there is no change.
I have not tried another wordpress theme. Will I lose changes if I try another theme or will the changes I made be saved? Thanks in advance.

Hi mhagenow.

I see it is WP eStore from tipsandtricks-hq.com you are using. I have the same store loaded in two Wordpress sites and the "variation" option works properly in both when on mobile after using the information here to make Atahualpa responsive.

When I go to your site on mobile I see it is redirecting to m.metalstampedmemories.com. That site is working on mobile but not with the dropdown menus for the "variation" options.

After following the instructions provided here, my sites do not redirect, they simply respond to the screen size.

Juggledad, I have now upgraded to the latest version of Atahualpa.
Yukoner, what are some of your sites so I can take a look at how they adjust to screen size? Also this thread has a lot of information- what exactly did you do to make your site respond to screen size?
I'd prefer to have mine redirect to m.metalstampedmemories.com but if it isn't going to work with the dropdown variation menu, I'll have to go another route.

Are you using a plugin to create the mobile (m.xxxx) version of the site?

p.s. I've moved this issue to it's own thread

One of my sites, http://spiritknivesyukon.ca/ has the shopping cart in the right sidebar. I see it might be better to have it as a separate page the way I have it at http://normhamilton.ca/writer/download-ebooks. Both sites seem to be working OK on my mobile units with the exception of the second one, today, doesn't keep the drop-down menu open long enough to choose an option.

That said, as far as the Atahualpa theme goes, and that is what this thread deals with, they are showing as responsive sites.

The answer to your question "what exactly did you do ..." is contained in the link in the very first post on this thread. How To pass Google's 'Mobile-Friendly Test' that Juggledad has kindly put together for us.
