Just wondering if it's possible to make the top-level links not link to pages if I use the WP3 menu editor.

The feature in the theme which allows this has that little message about not being used when you use the WP3 menu editor, but if anyone knows how I could disable top-level links in the WP3 menu editor or from within the theme I would be very appreciative!

In the WP3 menu create "Custom Link" with # in the URL field then set it as the top level item. No need to create a page that does nothing anymore.
