I would like to start all over again with this theme to run a good test case for the problems I have experienced thus far. I want to make sure I am rid of all the database additions too.

Please advise.

BTW - I am on WP 2.7

If you click "Reset" and "Save Changes" it would be almost a new install, the default settings would be in the options table though

To completely delete the options you'd have to run a SQL query

DELETE FROM wp_options WHERE option_name REGEXP '^bfa_ata_'

i.e. via PhpMyadmin
