Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Now that the php areas for the center column page are gone, where should we put the code for custom widget areas? The only option left on the page is the center column style and the add new widget area page states -- Put the code into ANY of the text areas EXCEPT the first one, named "Center column style".

The ability to put defined new widget area should be going back in soon. In the meantime you would have to add to a theme file or my suggestion would be to use 3.6.4 for the time being.

That sucks.

I have already upgraded the site I'm currently developing since the post on the available upgrade ( http://wordpress.bytesforall.com/?p=102 ) stated that in 3.6.7 the custom widget areas worked as they did before. Guess I get to go and roll it back to 3.6.4.

You can have both 3.6.4 and 3.6.7 installed at the same time if you use the manual update method.

Thanks for the suggestion. That is a good practice to use for any upgrade to the theme.

Hi,

I'm using 3.7.1. and I was just wondering if there has been any news on this topic. Is there a way to add a new widget area to the center column yet? If so how. I really don't want to go all the way back to 3.6.4

Thanks!

You need to edit index.php and put it there

That was written in June this year, any news on that?
