Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

I used Hostgator but had upload and script issues because of their meager 64mg allocated php memory limit. I found that many of the other popular hosts require a 1 year in advance payment and the others are very expensive. I am currently looking at www.westhost.com. I have asked them a few questions and they sound pretty good. They require a 3 month payment which I can do if I have to.
At hostgator I was in the process of setting up my first website and it was a rough road, but I was starting to figure it out when I started having trouble uploading. I want to set up a site for selling on a small to medium scale. Can anyone tell me if westhost is a good place for me to go.

Ya but you might be a lot smarter than me. Did you struggle mightily to get it set up? I will use Wordpress unless they have some awesome themes of their own. Come on, expound a little.

Westhost.com is just that - a 'host'.
WordPress is an application.
WordPress.com is a 'host'
WordPress.org is the host of 'WordPress' the software, themes and plugins

WordPress (the application) comes with 1 default theme (Twenty-Ten)
WordPress.com (the 'host') has 'over 100 attractive themes' available
WordPress.org currently shows 1337 themes

WestHost.com gives you a server that you can install anything you want, some of what they offer:
Blogs: Serendipity, b2evolution, LifeType, WordPress, Nucleus, Dotclear, Textpattern, eggBlog
Micro Blogs: StatusNet
Portals/CMS: Zikula, Xoops, Drupal 6, Joomla, Website Baker, sNews, Geeklog, Drupal
Forums: phpBB, AEF, XMB, UseBB, MyBB, Phorum, PunBB, SMF, FluxBB, bbPress,
Wikis: DokuWiki, MediaWiki, PhpWiki, PmWiki, TikiWiki, WikkaWiki
along with other applications

WordPress.com gives you WordPress

I guess it comes down to, how much you know, want to know and/or control you want.
