Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Most Popular by views widget

The current "Most Popular" widget on my blog sorts my entries by the number of comments made. However, if I go by the number of views, the Most Popular list would be totally different.

Is there a way I can change my Most Popular list so it's according to views, not comments?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much, and I have donated, too, BTW.

Whoops! I think I spoke too soon.

I have successfully installed this widget, but when I activate it, everything on my blog disappears except for the left sidebar, and instead of showing my most popular posts, I get this message in the sidebar:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_most_viewed() in /home/content/49/4475949/html/wp-content/plugins/wp-postviews-plus-widget/postviews_plus_widget.php on line 77

Can you help me out with this?

Thanks

Did you follow step 1 of the instructions?

WP-PostViews Plus widget

1) first install WP-PostViews Plus plugin from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-postviews-plus, you can get how to install and use it from it's readme.txt
2) then Upload 'wp-postviews-plus-widget' directory to the '/wp-content/plugins/' directory.
3) Activate the plugin 'WP-PostViews Plus widget' through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
4) In your blog's admin system goto Presentation > Widgets
5) Drag and drop the widget to a convenient place in your sidebar

Yes, I followed the instructions. My host is Go Daddy, and I uploaded and unarchived the plugin in my File Manager. I followed the same procedure w/ this plugin as I have every other one. hmmmm....

So you installed BOTH plugins?

1) first install WP-PostViews Plus plugin from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-postviews-plus, you can get how to install and use it from it's readme.txt

I have just now been able to revisit this plugin situation and have everything installed correctly. The widget shows up correctly in my sidebar, but now there's no content! I have it set to show my 8 most popular posts. Can you help me out one more time?

Thanks,

Lisa

I had the same problem – never could get a list to show up even though I installed both plug-ins.
