I like the new fading of header images in 3.5.4, but was wondering if there is a way to have other transition effects beside the fading?

Ultimately, a checkbox list of transition effects options would be nifty (like wipes, lines, blocks, patterns) that could be selected.

Or is there a plug-in with different image transition options that would work with Atahualpa theme?

There are a few slideshow plugins that can probably be adapted. Have a go and let us know the results.
