I am not a web designer. I am an architect. I run a not-for-profit site riba-usa.org/ I want to convert it to something new as it is slow to update HTML and WP seems like a good idea. However we dont have free advertising on the site. How can I remoive the footer? and link to wordpress? see www.riba-usa.org/beta you can check its not for profit... I know how to disable the whole footer but it need to say the first two lines company and not for profit...

you can add items to the footer, see ATO->Style & edit FOOTER
If ou want to get rid of the theme lines, there is a post in the gold forums that tells you how to do it.
Flynn, the theme author asks for a donation, so he can keep developing the theme.

Can I add a link in the footer to a new page (I want to add a terms of use page)? Is is possible to create this terms of use page but have it only accessible via that footer link? In other words, I don't want the terms of use page to show up with the other pages in tab form on the top left.

the footer is the place where I have to place this. But I don't know how to exclude the home page.
I have added this:

to ATO-Style and edit footer. It says I can add PHP and html. But the first is still a bit of a mistery to me. Any clues?
