Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Hi,
Wasn't really sure where to post this ................
Where in the code can I find the bit that specifies the alt tag for an image in a post.
Currently it seams to call for the post name but I would like to add some more to that.
Many Thanks.
Grahame.

OSX 10.11.5 WP 4.x Atahualpa(all) Safari, Firefox, Chrome
All depends on teh media processing that you use i.e. the default media processing or do you use something like NextGen.

At any rate when you put an image in a post the form will be like this
HTML Code:
<a href="http://192.168.48.99/~paul/zenofmud/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/flower.jpg"><img src="http://192.168.48.99/~paul/zenofmud/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/flower-223x300.jpg" alt="Ben covets Greg's flower" title="But will Greg give it up without a fight?" width="223" height="300" class="size-medium wp-image-108" /></a>
so you can always edit it in the post - using the HTML editor

Hi Juggledad,
Thanks for the reply.
The blog is being developed with YAPB (Yet Another Photo Blog) and is primarily image based and not allot of text.
I guess that the Alt tag could be created from YAPB, it just seamed more likely to my brain that it was comming from the theme.
I couldn't find it myself so thats why I asked.
YAPB somehow does it's majic outside of the normal WP settings and the HTML editor does not offer normal code to edit.
Oh well off to explore other possibilities, basically I just want to automajically add the image tags to the Alt.
Have a good one.

see if you can edit the post with the visual editor. If you see the image, click on it and there is a box in the upper left that will give you some image editing optinns (thanks to Paulae for pointing that out to me today!)

Hi Juggledad,
Thanks for the idea, but unfortunately YAPB somehow foils that......
It lives within WP, if that makes sense.
Will have a scratch around some more in the code over the weekend and see if I can find what I want.
Enjoy.
