Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Lightbulb How To: make Atahualpa more responsive/mobile friendly

While I've enjoyed tinkering with Montezuma, there's something about Atahualpa's structured menu options that I really just like. So I've been trying to hack ways to make Atahualpa more mobile-friendly with some CSS3 tricks. Here's what I came up with with a setup that uses:

Header: Menu, Logo, Bar 1, Images Bar 2
Body: Left sidebar, content, right sidebar

1) Add WP Responsive Menu as a plugin. There are a few out there but this is the one I liked the best.
2) Add the following to HTML/CSS inserts:

Code:
@media (max-width:632px)  {
#menu1, #left, #horbar1, #horbar2, #imagecontainer { display: none !important;}
#wrapper {width: 100% !important;}
table, thead, tbody, th, td, tr { display: block; }
	}
What this does:
@media calls out this CSS when the browser width is less than 632px.

At that width, the original menu, bars, and rotating image disappear. In addition, so does the left sidebar. In addition, all table cells then become block display. This shoves the right sidebar to the bottom.

It worked pretty well in all the ways I've been able to test so far, so I thought I'd share the knowledge.
