I want a page dedicated to a list of all blogs with a brief summary. It will be like an index. I have copied the index template and created an archive template. However, I don't know how to code the archive template to get what I want.

I saw an earlier posting from 2012 but this did not help any.

Can anyone help?

When you say you want to see your blogs, do you mean 'posts'? An excerpt of each post?

Yes, a brief summary of the blog post.

Montezuma - by default - lists the posts as excerpts. So I'm not sure what you want, The number of posts that is shown is controled by the wordpress setting dashboard->settings->reading
