show pictures in excerpt ata 3.4.6

I would like to show pictures in excerpt,
I have read different links about this, and the solutions seems to be different depending on which version of ata we are working on.

I found out that it is possible to keep pics in excerpt with ata 3.4.6 in this thread, but my english and my knowledge of coding don't enable me to let me know exactly what to do in order to fix this

In 3.4 there were some changes because of the way WP strips the HTML tags when it process the excerpt, so Flynn wrote a version. You can control what HTML tags don't get strip. Give it a try

what does it mean exactly ??
