Missing top of pages in IE - Any version

Working on a site currently at http://photoempt.com/AL1/ and it works as I would expect in all except Exploder! Grr.

I think the issue is that I have on each page template made the image a background image and there is nothing in the actual box.

I seem to remember in distant pass that IE want content in a box for it to show!

BUT when I try to add an image using Global Settings, script as supplied, and making all images same URL and saving, the whole theme resets itself!

Thank goodness for TimeMachine on my Mac! I got back to where I was and exported the theme so I could re-import it if I messed the whole thing up!
