There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Adding a background to kicker box

Any ideas here?

I am using the kicker box for the title of blog posts by using the info item options. I would like this box to have a background image, but it is not cooperating.

Using CSS background code linking to an image in the "style kicker" options pane does not add a background image.

I also tried general html <img src=""/> in the info options, which worked, but I can not get the info items on top of the image.

I am using the kicker box because my headline options are shut off so that the title of posts/pages are not on "Page" pages as well.

You can turn off the headline box for static pages with
HTML Code:
div.page div.post-headline {
display: none;
To add a background image to all posts kickers

HTML Code:
div.post-kicker {
background: url(/wp-content/themes/atahualpa332/images/myimage.gif) top right;
make sure the image is there by calling yoursite.com/wp-content/themes/atahualpa332/images/myimage.gif in the browser

If you used

background-image instead of just background then you cannot add things like the image position in the same line.

If the post kicker is empty then you'd have to add a height to the div.kicker, too or the background image may not be visible in some browsers. Also other things you have in the post kicker may be covering the background image. Add a padding to avoid this

HTML Code:
div.post-kicker {
background: url(/wp-content/themes/atahualpa332/images/myimage.gif) top right;
padding-right: 50px;
height: 35px;
Or something in the kicker, such as the title, has a solid background color which is covering the background image. I suggest that you use Firebug to figure out which styles are being applied (or not) to the various elements inside the post kicker and the post kicker itself
