Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Need to reinstall the theme

Unhappy Need to reinstall the theme

I had Atahualpa 3.51 installed and configured and looking really nice. I love this theme. Then I asked the geniuses that host my site to migrate my WordPress blog to the root folder, which they apparently thought meant moving all the files from the 'blog' folder to the root and that's it.

So, this completely messed up the theme. I tried moving the files back to the 'blog' folder but then the theme didn't look right anymore. Tried exporting my Atahualpa settings but clicking the button just took me to a 404 page.

Here's what it currently looks like: http://northcoasttec.com/index.php

I figured, what the heck, I'll just reinstall the theme and start from scratch. But even after pressing 'delete' on the theme inside the WordPress admin panel, verifying the theme folder was gone from the server, and then putting a fresh copy of the 'atahualpa351' folder on the server, the theme still looks .. not right.

Is there somewhere that WordPress stores other settings about themes or something? I'm confused how I can completely replace the folder as described above, but the header image is still at 160px which is what my custom settings were. Why isn't the theme completely reset back to the original settings? Thanks for any help ... just frustrated because I like the theme but am worried I can no longer use it without reinstalling the whole WordPress app or something...

Yes, the WordPress address and Site address are both pointing to http://www.northcoasttec.com. Also, I'm using WordPress 3.0.

Did you move your header images back to atahualpa/images/header? when you reinstalled, any images there would have been wiped out.

Other than the header image, what else is wrong with the look?
If you Export the settings now, does the export work?

I didn't move the header images back.

When I installed the theme originally, the header was centered and took up most of the width of the page, but now it's pushed off to one side. Also, when I increase the header image height, it just overlays the elements below it instead of pushing everything down. Maybe it's just me - if you think it looks fine then I probably just have to have more patience and go through all the them settings to get the look I want.

The export works okay now. I wish I had exported my settings prior to asking my website hoster to move files around.

I suspect that you hit the 'delete bfa_ata4' button at some point and that trashed all your settings.
You could ask your host if they backup the databases and if they could restore if from before this happened.

You should also install the wp-dbmanager plug-in which will automatically backup the database at specified times. Having an old backup would have saved you.

Do you have any recent db backup? It is possible to grab the options out of it.

You're correct, I clicked it. The database was only configured a week ago or so, and there are only a few posts and pages in there that I created to test things out. I didn't fully understand what clicking that button did. I thought it had something to do specifically with this theme, not with the WordPress installation itself. So I've messed something up badly enough that this theme will not work correctly unless I have a backup restored or WordPress reinstalled?
