There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

[SOLVED] How do I upload, install the favicon.ico file in Montezuma?

Hello Montezuma forum!

How do you upload the favicon.ico using the Montezuma theme?

I go to Montezuma Options -> Favicon

and then;

I click "Upload" to upload the favicon.ico file. Montezuma will upload the favicon.ico file but it puts the image in the Media library.

It's supposed to go inside the Montezuma theme directory isn't it?

Can somebody explain how to upload the favicon.ico file into the proper place?

Thanks.

Hi Jimtrail.

I had the same issue when I first installed Montezuma. Couldn't get it to take at all, so all I did was drop the favicon in the public_html folder and all was good. Shows on all browsers, feeds etc. No idea why Montezuma does what it does, maybe a bug, who knows.

sampb;

Thanks for responding to my question.

I got it fixed! I uploaded the favicon to the root folder and now it's showing.

For others who might see this post they need to go into the Montezuma Options folder in the Dashboard and where it says Favicon image they need to put the directory path to the favicon. Then slick "Save Changes."

Do like this:
http://www.yourdomain.com/favicon.ico

Then click Save Changes.

That way the directory path shows up in the header in the source code.

Thanks again.
