The title of my posts(and pages)which is H1, is looking huge on the page is there any way I can change the font size of this to make it smaller for Post titles? I believe that a H1 tag is preferred for SEO, but is there away to keep the H1 tag but reduce it's size?

Are there any methods anyone can recommend to do this?

use a CSS Insert
h1 { font-size: 50% }

do a google search 'css font size' to see your other choices.
