Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

I am sure that this has been addressed a million times, but I am not finding a solution to my problem. I am creating a word page site for a boyscout troop and I am creating multiple pages such as camping, activities, scoutmaster minute. I also want to leave the home tab that is there by default.

There will be several people updating the site with various posts and news. Not all of them are computer savvy so I need to make it as simple as possible for them. Here is what I want to be able to do. Lets say Joe the scoutmaster wants to make a blog entry I want to make it show that he can select something like a category and that post will only show up on the scoutmaster minute page and no other not even the main or home page. If a scout logs in and wants to make an blog post about a camping trip I only want that post to show up on the camping page and no other. BUT I also need to retain the ability to post things to the main or home page like important updates or notices like a trip or meeting being canceled that will not appear on any other page at all.

There will be about 10 pages in total that I need to set up so that each one can be posted to separately. thank you for the help in advance. I am new to wordpress but I do IT for a living and am a fairly quick learner.

Here is the page in question http://www.scouttroop210.org

and thank you in advance for any help that you can give.

Two things I might suggest.

1) to make it was for the 'un-savvy' why not try the plugin postie which allows them to post by e-mail. This was a great discovery of mine when my wife and I were traveling and it allowed her to post to our blog without learning WordPress

2) to have several pages displaying different posts, you could set them up as categories, but displaying a page without category A, B and C is tougher. I did write a page template that you can use just for this purpose and it is in the Gold Forum Tutorials (accessible to members who have donated $20 or more) called 'HOWTO: Multi Column/Custom Query page template' which allows multi columns for the posts, a custom query (you can display only the posts from category 'A' or all the posts but from category 'A' and 'B') you can display the PAGE text above the post and a couple other things.
