Atahualpa provides an excellent and simple option for separately controlling whether full posts or excerpts appear on the HOME page and on the ARCHIVE pages.

Is there a way to separately control the number of posts which appear on HOME and on ARCHIVE?

For example, I'd like 5 on HOME, and all posts for each month on the ARCHIVE.

Maybe if I show that I'm still searching for this rather than just waiting on an answer...

What I did today:

1. I located this thread: http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthr...hlight=archive explaining exactly how to do what I want to accomplish. Unfortunately that's no longer possible as of 3.6.5 (as it says in the note in "Style & edit CENTER COLUMN")

2. I tried editing the index.php file, inserting the code from the thread above into it in various ways. No good.

Any ideas for me? Thanks!

I have found at least a temporary solution. A plugin named "Custom Post Limits" http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-post-limits/ It hasn't been updated in about a year, but seems to be working for now and allows me to set the number of posts that appear in Archive.

If anyone else is looking for a way to set how many posts appear in Archive, Category, Search, etc. this may also work for you.
