Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Comment Number in Comments

Using 3.4.4 with latest WP: how can I place the comment number (preferably in a colored block) inside each comment? The comment number should be sequential and non-repeating (if comments go across several pages).

Have done a search in this forum, but no definitive answer that I can see.

Thanks! Excellent theme!

I tried "Gregs" numbering thing, and it didn't work. The comment numbers did not display.

In fact, it changed the avatar/picture in the comments to the "G" logo on all comments (even those with pictures). And the "G" stayed there even after uninstalling the add-in! Wasn't very pleased about that.

I suspect that I am better off modifying the comment php code with my own little subroutine and styles. And then remembering to reinstall that change during any future theme upgrades.

It would be nice to have a 'insert code/css before comment code block' in the theme, though. Or a checkbox to enable comment number display, and some CSS to specify for that area if 'checkboxed'.

Great theme, though. I really like the ability to customize just about anything.
