Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Hi, everybody

I'm having a difficult time making a previously published post sticky.

Followed the routine edit & checked sticky box.

However post still at bottom of list of posts. Using wp 283 & Ata 341. Please send me a link that explains how to make sticky post. Thank you.

OSX 10.11.5 WP 4.x Atahualpa(all) Safari, Firefox, Chrome
1) you should upgrade both your WP and Atahualpa - do them seperately - do a backup first
2) you have done the steps nescessary to make it a sticky.

try disabling all your plugins to see if there is a conflict
do you have any other stickies
does it show as a sticky when you edit it

I had no idea how a sticky post should look. Saw Flynn's Feb 6, 2009 http://wp27.bytesforall.com/ link explaining what a sticky post should look like. My only sticky post is out range in another dimension. Have disabled plugings and nothing changed. I am a newbie and need help. Will upgrade as you suggested soon as I learn how to make a post sticky. Website link http://dreamingofamerica.com.

Thanks juggledad for your response.

Please point directly to the post that you set as a sticky. Just pointing at the blog doesn't help

Sorry, I was not thinking. The post is American Dream! Also, I want "Leave a Reply box" show only when viewers want to comment. Gracious.

Because of my newbie status I am becoming more confused, especially when you asked which page is the blog. I was relating what I see on test site. Localhost shows page with posts, the dates of published posts, Category:, Leave a comment. When I click Leave a comment, leave a reply & the Submit Comment box appears. Using wp 292 on localhost. Trying to create same look with wp 283 & Ata 341 on remote server. Upgrading to wp 292 was no fun, so I'm trying to make sticky post before upgrading wp & ata on remote server. I have a lot to learn so please, pardon me for dumb questions.

well now you have confused me. What I think you have is two sites with two issues in one thread and I don't now what is what, so lets take one at a time.

You have asked about sticky's and dreamingofamerica dot com.
what page is defined as the blog (find this at dashboard->settings->reading)
a sticky will 'stick' to the first page of the posts which, by default is your front or landing page. But it can be a different page. If the 'landing' page of yout site is not your blog, then the sticky wlil not show up there.
