Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Hi, I'm a newly registered donor/member and I was wondering if someone could please help me. I have cs5 and I'm using it to edit Atahualpa (by the way, what does that me?) but I'm having trouble changing the <div> tag image container file so that I can remove the gray border from my image and the bottom border, so that I can have my images height increased. Please forgive me if I'm not using the correct terminology I'm very new to all of this; wamp, index.php... I was also wondering if there was a tutorial showing exactly what all the different areas on a theme were, for instance; this is a header, footer, body of the image...that would really help. I did however find the line of code that I wanted to edit in DWs live code view but I could not edit it without disabling live view first but when I did that, the code disappeared. If I can't edit the theme in DW, is there any other way I could edit it, save the file, then load it up in DW and still have the changes that I made in effect?

Thank you in advance
BellaMary

Atahualpa is meant to be edited within the theme options. I have no idea how you would use Dreamweaver to "edit" this theme and wouldn't recommend it.

Thank you so much for your response, I have spent so much time trying to figure out how to get Atahualpa configured correctly within DW that I was running out of time on my "trial period" because I wanted to see if it would be the correct program to use to edit WordPress themes. I had no ideal that I could just edit this theme (and others) all from the WordPress edit options. Everyone that I had spoken to recommended DW CS5 because it was the choice for web artist, that's why I had downloaded the trial from Adobe. I thought all this time, I was doing something wrong, thank you for clarifying this for me.

I have accessed the edit options on Atahualpa, but I honestly don't know how to reach the <div> tag for removing the gray bars from the image area, by the way since I don't have to use DW anymore, I've went back to the original version of Atahualpa that I had which was version 3.4.9. These are the steps I took to reach the code part of the theme: I click on theme, then I clicked editor, that's as far I can go without really getting confused. I don't know where to locate that line of code. The options on the right side of the screen list many sub categories under Theme but I don't know which one contains the correct line of code that I need. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, once again thank you for your response.

Instead of clicking on Appearance>Editor click on Appearance>Atahualpa Theme Options. That is where you do your editing. The gray bars you mention are probably the background image as reference in Atahualpa Theme Options (ATO)>Body, Text, & Links. You should see a line there with the path to the background image.

It takes awhile to get familiar with the theme options but will save you time in the long run.

I've tried everything but the two gray lines are still there. Is it possible because I'm editing this theme on my localhost that this is the reason why I cannot get rid of the two dark gray lines. I followed the information that you provided but I still cannot get rid of those two gray lines. I even deleted the background.gif in the c://wamp/www/wp-content/themes/images/background.gif but I still cannot get rid of those lines. I'm using Atahualph 3.4.9 on Windows 7.

Can you post a screenshot of what you are talking about. Perhaps I misunderstood.

I found the lines of code you were talking about but unfortunately DW would not allow me to edit the code unless I turned off live view but when I did that the code went away. I found the file that contained that line of code but it was only after I looked in the www folder on my local server and not the one online at my remote server. I don't know how I did it but I was able to remove the top gray line from my image by going into the ATO menu within WP but honestly I don't know which line that I removed. I just compared the theme that I had on my localhost and the one that I have on my remote host and made the changes. I can't remember what I did to make the top gray line disappear and not the bottom one. You were right when you said to go in an discover this theme, now if I can only remember which one I discovered and do the same for the bottom. Here are the results;

this is a direct link to the file. Thank you for helping me.

It's not a file you want to go into. It is the Atahualpa Theme Options. You login to the WordPress Dashboard go to ATO>Add HTML/CSS Inserts>CSS Inserts and look for these lines.
HTML Code:
div#imagecontainer{
border-top:solid 5px #333;
border-bottom:solid 5px #333;}
To eliminate the lines on the top and bottom of the header image just delete those lines. DW is not going to help you with this. You need to use the Theme Options from within the WordPress dashboard.
